We did it!!! Woot Woot!!
It is the last day of the Luvvie’s 31 Write Now challenge and honestly it was harder than I expected.
I am not going to lie, I definitely missed a few days mostly due to lack of inspiration. I tried to set my standards high and not just post for the sake of saying, I did it.
The only reason I agreed to do the challenge was because I was in a writing slump. I was posting less and less on my blog and I was not working on my manuscript. I hoped that it would start a fire under my ass and help me get back on track.
Although I still have not touched my manuscript, mainly because of this challenge, I did learn the value of consistency. All writers know the importance of actually writing but there is always a reason not to write, so forcing myself to sit in front of the computer daily helped me begin a schedule.
This challenge also motivated me to submit something I wrote last year. I finally had the opportunity (and courage) to do it.
I was struggling with becoming more transparent with my blog because it is hard to have an authentic voice if you are actively hiding your inner self. I still have a ways to go but I definitely shared a lot more of myself on here. And those of you who sent me emails or commented, you are much appreciated. It is nice to know that I am not just talking to myself sometimes.
Lastly, this challenge introduced me to a whole network of other writers. It can be lonely out here in the blogosphere and it’s nice to know that there are others with a similar focus. I read so many amazing blog posts and I hope that this is just the beginning of the community we started to build. I would love to say that I knew So-So when they were just blogging and now they are doing X, Y, and Z.
What did you learn from this challenge?
